Given my blog post topics lately, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if you thought the baby was the only thing on my mind…and while that is certainly at the forefront, I promise it’s not the only thing ;) Coming in at a close second to getting baby-ready is how excited I am for fall! Dave and I both took the day off on Friday to extend Labor Day weekend and squeeze in a few last-minute summer activities (a cookout in our backyard and a Durham Bulls baseball game) and lots of quality time together, which was wonderful and so relaxing. It was the perfect send-off to summer, and I now feel officially ready to welcome all things cozy and pumpkin-flavored!
While I typically stick to the same beauty products year-round, I’ve really enjoyed shaking things up a little this summer. While most switches I made were pregnancy-related, trying out a few new routines still felt indulgent and fun, so I’m planning to do the same for fall. Here are a few of the goodies currently on my radar!
Clockwise from top left:
Burt’s Bees chapstick in Pumpkin Spice: Because it’s under $4 and Burt’s Bees chapstick is one of my staples, so why not? :)
Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish: I love body scrubs, but hardly ever buy them. This one is pricey, but every Fresh product I’ve tried has been worth the splurge so far, and I imagine this one is no different. It would be so handy for keeping skin soft as the weather cools down!
Burberry Brit eau de toilette: I stick to my signature scent year-round, but I do think this is the perfect scent for fall if you’re the type to switch up perfumes! The notes include white peony, sugared almonds, amber, mahogany, and vanilla. Yes please!
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask: Do you use face masks often? I love the idea of them but haven’t loved the (very) few I’ve tried. This one has great reviews, so I’m planning to head to Sephora and pick up a sample sometime soon. Even if it doesn’t do much, I bet it smells delicious :)
Essie in Playing Koi: As a proud University of Texas alum, I’ll definitely be picking up Essie’s new perfectly burnt orange shade to add to my collection!
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Shimmer Finish: I’ve heard people swear by this highlighter, and I think it might be just right for hanging on to any end-of-summer glow.
PCA Skin Nutrient Toner: This product has the least exciting name and packaging, but it’s actually the one I’m the most anxious to add to my cabinet! I got a free sample of this toner a few weeks ago and loved it–it’s packed with vitamins, enzymes, and amino acids that are great for your skin, and since it includes pumpkin wine extract, it smells like just a hint of fall.
Do you switch up your beauty products or routines by the season? If you have any favorite things that I should pick up, I’d love to hear!
I’m so excited for fall as well! I always love picking up a new fall color nail polish too! I’ll have to check out that perfectly burnt orange color! ;)
I think it might even surpass my favorite from last fall (Essie After School Boy Blazer–the best navy!)–we’ll see! :)
Oooo! I hadn’t seen the fall Essie’s yet!
They’re pretty good!!
I’ve been eyeing those shimmer bricks too! :)
I’ll let you know if I end up getting one!
As a fellow Essie lover I definitely appreciate the seasonal colors and that burnt orange sure looks like the perfect fall color!
Aren’t they so fun? I always look forward to seeing their new collections!
I LOVE that Peter Thomas Roth face mask. Smells so good you’ll want to eat it (I mean, don’t.) and made my face feel and look so great! 10/10, highly recommend.
I would love to hear your pregnancy picks for skincare!
Ooh, now I really can’t wait to try it–thanks for the recommendation! :)
Stay tuned for an upcoming pregnancy skincare post!
This is such a lovely round-up Lisa! I’d like to try the body polish from Fresh. Their lemon sugar perfume is my favorite!
I don’t think I’ve ever smelled their perfumes, but lemon sugar sounds so lovely!
I LOVE Fresh products! Every single product makes me feel like I smell amazing and my skin glows :)
I’m so anxious to try more of them! Let me know if you have any favorites in particular! :)
