September Goals

Goals

One of the most vivid memories of my life is of standing outside the Syracuse airport in March 2013, waiting for Dave to pick me up. We hadn’t seen each other in three years, but after talking nonstop for two months, we were finally going to see each other in person. I remember standing there in the cold and thinking over and over again, “These are the last few seconds of my life before everything changes.” Sure enough, minutes later, I knew I was looking at the man who was going to be my husband. Dave remembers thinking the exact same thought when he was waiting with his back turned before our first look on our wedding day. Now that September is here, it’s a phrase that is, once again, on repeat between us. My due date is the 24th, and while it’s hard to imagine what life is going to look like by the end of this month, what I do know is that I’m so deeply grateful for our baby boy and so glad that I get to experience this adventure with Dave by my side!

August Goals:

  • Learn a lot at our birth class and my breastfeeding class at the hospital
  • Write a birth plan
  • Find a pediatrician (we are visiting our top choice this evening, so hoping to cross this off by the end of the day)
  • Finish decorating the nursery
  • Take our maternity photos!
  • Come up with a freezer meal plan for early September
  • Write baby shower thank you notes
  • Do my best to exercise daily (No where near daily, I’m afraid–more like weekly)
  • Spend LOTS of time with Dave

September Goals:

  • Stock up on household and postpartum supplies
  • Pack our hospital bags
  • Enjoy a relaxing, long Labor Day weekend
  • Have a baby!!

  10. Dana says:

I get teary eyed when I think of getting the phone call that you’re going into labor. My phone ringer will be on just in case he comes early and I’m at school!

  11. Kristina says:

Yay! Happy September y’all – what an exciting month it will be! I can totally relate to your sister; when my sister in law was due with my niece I left my phone ringer on during classes as well and sure enough in the middle of my Statistics class my brother called to share the good news. Thankfully my professor was very understanding ;-)
And I love the Texas forever flag – can’t wait to see the rest of the nursery!

  12. Mary says:
