The Coziest Christmas Loungewear

Christmas

One tradition that lands in the “good for her, not for me” category right now is matching family pajamas. Don’t get me wrong; I think it’s adorable and can imagine how much fun it is, especially with a bunch of kiddos to dress up! Since I spent most of my childhood Christmases overseas, where matching PJs for the holidays were few and far between, though, it’s not something I grew up doing. Now, it feels hard to justify something that’s such a novelty item in our budget…even though I’m sure our kids wouldn’t care about wearing Christmas pajamas in March. So, while the Kirks won’t be donning matching family pajamas this year (I reserve the right to change my mind about this at any time ;)), one thing I can enthusiastically get behind, especially in 2020, is cozy Christmas loungewear. In my mind, this counts as anything that feels more year-round classic, while also being especially fitting for this particular time of year!

I have been waxing poetic about my Plain Jane jogger set (gifted) for a few weeks now, but y’all, it is just the best. Seeing as how I have been grabbing it straight off of the drying rack in an attempt to wear it almost every night, I can’t recommend them highly enough! They are still 30% off with the code JOLLY (possibly ending today), and it’s taking all my willpower not to buy more colors and prints to give the Spice Stripe set I’m wearing here a break every once in a while :) And if matching Christmas pajamas are your thing, don’t miss their kids’ pajamas too–these flutter-sleeve nightgowns for little girls are particularly dreamy.

P.S. I almost always opt for mediums in pajamas/loungewear because I prefer a loose, cozy fit, but I went with a small in these and think the fit is perfect! For reference, I’m 5’6″ and usually wear a size 4/6.

They look so cozy! Now that it’s frigid in our house, I am very interested! And then we can still do matching holiday pjs :)

I love the idea of fancy loungewear; I think all of your posts about the topic are making me rethink my priorities, haha! Are these warm? They look thin and a bit like you would need to be under the covers to feel warm enough. I like my pjs to be wearable throughout the day, not just for sleeping, and usually opt for sweatpants-type material. Would these still work for that?

Sadly, I don’t think so! They’re definitely a thinner, drapier material than sweatpants, so they might not be your cup of tea. Maybe try the Lou & Grey Signature Softblend sets? I don’t have one but they are at the top of my list for more daytime-ready loungewear!
