One of the trickiest areas in our house to design has been our entryway. When you open the front door, the first thing you see is a wall…but the hard part? The corner is where my desk lives. It’s great in theory because I’ll be able to watch Charlie play in the living room from it someday, but it has always bothered me to see clutter right when I walked in the door. Because of its central location in the house, my desk becomes quite the catchall for mail, receipts, and Charlie’s things. And don’t get me started on that big blank wall! At first, I hung one 11×14 frame there, thinking that with everything going on below, it’d be better to have some white space up above, but that just made the wall look empty. I’ve been mulling over this for months, and finally, I decided to find a giant piece of artwork–something that brought in the colors of my desk, but also matched our living room.
My love for Minted is well-documented (see our save the dates, newlywed Christmas cards, and most recent Christmas cards), and ever since they launched a fine art collection, I’ve been keeping my eye on the offerings. Once I decided on a “go big or go home” approach for the entryway, I fell in love with their Days in Paris print, and lucky for me, Dave did too! With the giant print (we chose the 40×30) solving the empty wall situation, I was motivated to get the rest of the entryway together by re-styling my desk and the bar, and setting our storage ottoman against the wall for my diaper bag to sit on and as sneaky storage for baby gear. Here’s how it turned out!
Minted’s anniversary sale started today, so if you need to fill up a blank wall in your house too, take a look at a few more of my favorite Minted fine art pieces below. The sale (15% off site-wide with code NINE through 4/3) is better than their Cyber Week sale!
Even if you’re not in the market for art, wedding paper, or holiday cards, it’s pretty amazing how many paper goods Minted stocks. Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favorites for a few categories that may be applicable if you have spring celebrations coming up :)
Do you have any especially tricky spots to decorate in your house? I’d love to hear your creative solutions!
Thank you so much to Minted for partnering with me on this post!
I have needed this! I have $100 credit to use, thanks to a giveaway and I’ve been wanting to get some art! :)
Oh so fun! Let me know if you end up getting something! :)
I ended up just getting some belated baby announcements! :) I couldn’t decide on art but I think I’ll frame one. Hehe! I’ll be sending one your way!
It looks beautiful, Lisa! We are in the same boat with trying to create an entryway in a layout that doesn’t really have one. This is great, and I love your diaper bag!
It’s such a weird space, so I’m hoping this can be maintained, ha! And I am a big fan of this diaper bag–it’s by Kate Spade and it comes in black with pink lining too. Highly recommend :)
Looks great! Nice choice!
Thank you! :)
