Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on one of my November goals: writing and designing a new About page for Something Pretty that reflects the heart of what I want this blog to be. I’m so pleased that it’s finally finished, and I hope it helps you get to know me a little better. I like to think of this blog as my online living room. It’s the place where family and friends can come over for a cup of coffee or a glass of champagne, depending on the occasion. It’s the place where I can cuddle up on the couch with my fiancé or host a fabulous birthday party for my best friend. It’s the place where I feel inspired, content, creative, and most of all, at home, and my hope is that it will make you feel the same way.

I believe that going the extra mile to make something special is worth it. I believe in marrying your soul mate and eating off your wedding china on ordinary days. I believe in the road less traveled, playing tourist in your own city, and never turning down the opportunity to go somewhere new. I believe in celebrating holidays with enthusiasm and creating your own occasion to wear an outfit you’ve been saving. I believe in wearing bright lipstick on rainy days, keeping a full stash of stationery for sending surprise snail mail, and filling my home with flowers and photographs.
