Along with painting the walls, our top priority for our house so far has been updating the light fixtures. As you can see in these photos from our move-in day, the existing fixtures were dark and heavy-looking–pretty much the opposite of the bright and airy feel we love. A few of the fans were also very weak, and as our hot North Carolina summer approached, upgrading them for more effective options flew to the top of our to-do list. We found a simple, modern, white ceiling fan for under $200 for our master bedroom and ended up loving it so much, we bought the exact same one for the living room!
Especially with house decisions, I’m the “show me every option on the internet and then I’ll choose” type. Fans, however, are one of those things that I don’t care enough about to want to search for in the same way–too boring ;) If you’re in the market for a new fan but also don’t care to scroll through hundreds of them, I hope this recommendation can save you some time! Here’s a look at it in each space:
A few things we love about it:
– The clean, streamlined look
– The variety of fan and light settings
– The “natural breeze” setting that slows down and picks up
– How quiet it is
My one complaint:
– There is a few-second delay between the remote and the fan that always makes me wonder if I need to press the button again
I’m gearing up for an updated home tour to celebrate a year in our house, but in the meantime, scroll through my #somethingprettyhome hashtag on Instagram to see some of the updates we’ve made!

I am also a fan of this fan! JUST THIS WEEKEND we installed its sibling – basically the same design, but with five blades!
We only have two fans in our house and I’m glad I like the style of them! They’re also quiet, which is sooo nice. I can’t sleep with a clicking fan.
Ok the fan is super lovely BUT those chairs! Let’s talk about those first!
Ahh, I love them so much! We were wary about ordering chairs online but have been so, so happy with these. They’re from Article!
