I don’t want to jinx it, but I think the weather in Raleigh has finally cooled off for the year. Even though I’ve spent the vast majority of my life in hot climates, I like my fall/winter clothes so much more than my summer wardrobe. It doesn’t hurt that I couldn’t wear many of my winter clothes at this time last year, when I was in my third trimester of pregnancy, so lots of old pieces are feeling particularly fresh and new! In my November outfit diary, you’ll find a good mix of old favorites, my classic staples (are you tired of my white corduroy pants yet? ;)), and a few fun accessories thrown in. I always feel the most inspired to layer, accessorize, and mix-and-match this time of year, so I’m already looking forward to sharing my December outfits with you! I’m planning to update my Outfits page regularly throughout the month, so follow along there for holiday outfit ideas in real-time, if you’d like!
Read on for November looks, product links, and sizing details. Let me know if you have any favorites or questions!
J. Crew Factory cardigan: One of my favorite fall purchases! I love the color and the chunky knit look. I sized up to a large for a cozier, longer fit. The blush one is sold out but this has a similar shape and feel. / J. Crew Essential tee: White tees are such a staple for me, I reach for them as soon as they’re out of the wash. This is my favorite one I own right now. I sized up to a large because I prefer my tees to have a looser fit. / J. Crew Factory jeggings: Finally decided to buy a not-too-expensive pair of jeans in a size up from my pre-pregnancy size so that I can do things like sit down comfortably this season ;) These are stretchy and comfy and I love the high-waist. Wearing a size 28 and I think they fit true to size. / BP bow mules: These shoes are an old favorite but I still love the mule shape and bow detail. Similar here (take 10% off with the code LISA) and here. / Julie Vos Bee Pearl Drop earrings: I wore these fun bumblebee and pearl earrings in the Simplified shoot last year. Love that they’re a fun twist on the classic pearl drop earring–they’d make a lovely gift!
Land’s End buffalo check fleece: This fleece was a bit of an impulse buy when I saw it on sale for $20, but it was well worth it–super cozy and cute! I got a medium, but kind of wish I had gone with a small–it’s more oversized than I had expected. / Zella Live In High Waist leggings: By far my favorite leggings I’ve ever owned. Thick but not too hot, opaque, high-waisted, and not shiny. Wearing a small. / Allbirds Tree Runners sneakers: My brother used to work at the AllBirds store in Austin, so these feel a little sentimental! Sentiment aside, these sneakers are SO comfortable and I love being able to wear them without socks.
J. Crew Factory cotton-wool Teddie sweater: I’ve been stealing Dave’s gray crewneck sweater for years and finally decided it was time to get my own ;) Wearing a medium. P.S. Do NOT put Teddie sweaters in the dryer–they shrink like crazy if you do. / Veja Esplar sneakers: I love these sneakers so much! Super classic, beautiful quality, and very easy to style with anything from jeans, to shorts, to dresses. / Loft velvet headband: Lots of headbands give me a headache by the end of the day, but this one from Loft doesn’t. The black velvet is out of stock, but here is a black one, here are the other velvets, and here’s a different black velvet.

Crew Factory white corduroy pants: I love the way the corduroy makes these white pants perfectly fall-appropriate, while the high-waist button front is a fun twist. These run small–I had to return and exchange a pair before landing on one that fit. Wearing a 29. / Veja Esplar sneakers: I love these sneakers so much! Mango statement collar blouse: I have been admiring this way-out-of-my-budget statement collar sweater for over a year, so when I saw this blouse, I knew I could use it to create the same layered look. See the blouse sans sweater here. It looks like mine is backordered but I love this one as well. Or, go with this sweater for the look all in one! / J. The boots are a splurge but when it comes to comfort, elegance, and versatility, they simply can’t be beat. Take 10% off with the code LISA.
J. Crew Factory gingham bell-sleeve top: This soft flannel blouse is one of my favorite winter tops, and since I didn’t get to wear it while pregnant last winter, I was excited to pull it out recently! This is the most similar in-stock top I could find, but there are actually tons on Poshmark. / J. J. Crew flannel popover: Plaid flannel can be hard to style in a classic way, but this popover is so comfortable, I’ve hung onto it for years. Mine is old but I like this and this even better than mine :) / J. Crew Factory white corduroy pants: I love the way the corduroy makes these white pants perfectly fall-appropriate, while the high-waist button front is a fun twist. These run small–I had to return and exchange a pair before landing on one that fit. Wearing a 29. / Sam Edelman Loraine loafers: One of my favorite pairs of fall shoes, these loafers have held up beautifully over the two years I’ve had them. They come in a bunch of different colors–mine are the Saddle Leather.
Abercrombie gray v-neck sweater: Is it obvious yet that I can’t resist a good gray sweater? This chunky knit one is one of my favorites, especially with a front-tuck. Mine is old, but there are lots of great similar options: here, here, here, and here. / J. I sized up to a large because I prefer my tees to have a looser fit. / J. Crew slip skirt: Skirts haven’t played a big role in my wardrobe in years, but lately, I’ve been feeling inspired by them. Love these outfits, especially the skirt and the heels! I switched to skirts and dresses almost full time after having Philip so I’m always on the hunt for new, versatile ones.
The buffalo check jacket!! So cute!
All I want to buy are cream color sweaters. Can’t get enough!!
