I wasn’t much of a wine drinker before Charlie was born, but now that Dave and I have fully embraced the concept of the at-home date (I talk more about this here), we’ve found ourselves heading to the wine aisle more and more often. We’ve also developed a bit of a fascination with wine documentaries–if you haven’t seen Somm or Somm: Into the Bottle on Netflix, I highly recommend them! We both love history and different cultures, and wine is so engrained in the history and culture of so many parts of the world, I guess the connection makes sense when you think about it. But I digress :) While Dave and I usually drink Grüner Veltliner (an Austrian white wine we love–we served it at our wedding!) or chardonnay when we’re splitting a bottle, my personal favorite wine is rosé, so I jump at the chance to enjoy it when we’re at a restaurant or I have any of my girlfriends over. I was so delighted when one of my all-time favorite wine companies, Chloe Wine, recently sent me a bottle of their rosé to try, and I couldn’t wait to share it!
If you’re the kind of person who decides on a wine based on the label (ahem, I am often guilty of this), you may have picked up a bottle of Chloe Wine before–their bottles are so chic! I love the black bow, and the “ballet slipper pink” color of the rosé would look gorgeous on a bar at a bridal shower or garden party, don’t you think?
Despite all these wine documentaries Dave and I have been watching (ha!), my taste buds aren’t quite sophisticated enough to identify the subtleties in different wines, but I have noticed that drier wines with strawberry, pear, or lime notes tend to be my favorites. Chloe’s rosé has strawberry, raspberry, and watermelon notes, and is on the dry side, but with just the right hint of sweetness. I think it would be quite the crowd pleaser at a party, but I also love the idea of using it as a hostess gift–it’s elegant, without being too expensive.
Cheers, friends! Tell me, are you a wine person? What’s your favorite type or brand?
Thanks so much to Chloe Wine for sharing this delightful rosé with me! All opinions are my own.
Yum!!! I’m definitely a fan of rosé and rosé season, but I haven’t tried Chloe yet! I have my Trader Joe’s go-to! ha! I’m going to seek this one out! Love the label too!
I’d love to know your Trader Joe’s favorite–we get wine from there all the time! I definitely think you’d like this one too :)
I’ve seen this in stores! Definitely have picked it up because the label was cute.
I think it’s one of the prettiest!
I’m not a wine person at all but if I was I would surely be guilty of picking it out based on a pretty label ;-) And I just have to say I love that you served Grüner Veltliner at your wedding. It’s my families go-to wine while on vacation in Austria every year and just hearing the name of the wine makes me smile. So many good memories!
That’s so fun, Kristina!! We love the taste, and since we met in Austria, it was a sweet, subtle nod to our story, which we loved :) Where in Austria does your family go every year? We’re planning to go back in a few years for our fifth anniversary and I am practically already counting down, haha!
