As much as I love planning the details when I’m throwing a party, things sometimes happen that are out of my control–and in the case of our rooftop movie party, that thing was rain! Thunder started to roll about an hour before our guests arrived, so Dave and I scurried to clean our apartment (one benefit of a small space=quicker cleaning time!) and set up inside. We were originally sad that a handful of the people we had invited couldn’t make it, but relocated to our cozy living room, it ended up working out for the best! We had a wonderful time snacking on homemade salsa, drinking spiked lemonade, eating s’mores bars, and enjoying sweet conversation with our friends, and it was so much fun hosting as a married couple for the first time!

The other unexpected part of the party? We all got so caught up chatting, we forgot to watch the movie! Dave and I ended up changing into our pajamas and snuggling up to watch it ourselves after all of our guests went home, so I figured it was still okay for me to call this post “Summer Movie Party” :)
