Love List 2011

Lifestyle

There is no doubt that 2011 has been a monumental year in weddings–from the royal wedding that had the whole world spellbound, to the Kardashian blowout that had the whole world, well, cringing. :P To finish off a wonderful year on Something Pretty, here are my favorite weddings of the year!

{The Royal Wedding was a modern fairy tale that epitomized class, elegance, and most of all, love. I don’t think anyone in the world could stop from smiling (or even tearing up, ahem) when Kate Middleton stepped out of that carriage, or when the newlyweds shared not one, but two kisses!}

{I adore Dylan Lauren, and her dress, custom designed by her famous father, Ralph Lauren, is hands down my favorite dress of the year, if not ever. She looks breathtaking, and the fact that it was lovingly crafted by her father makes it that much more special. Picture via Vogue.com}

{Kate Moss killed it at her wedding–from a perfectly personal theme (The Great Gatsby meets rock and roll), to a dreamy venue, to the most gorgeous flowers, this might be my favorite celebrity wedding ever. Picture via Vogue.com}

{Oh, those Lauren kids. This time, it’s David Lauren marrying Lauren Bush, with an Old-West-elegance theme and another jaw-dropping custom Ralph Lauren dress. Le sigh! Picture via Vogue.com}

{The blogosphere went a little crazy over the fact that all this gorgeousness was from the same wedding, and I was no exception! The romantic crowns, ombre cake, and whimsical details of this Roanoke, Virginia wedding made it more than memorable. Pictures by Marta Locklear, via Style Me Pretty}

{I love this wedding so much, I featured pictures from it on Something Pretty twice! The St. Patrick’s Cathedral ceremony, the most perfect lace dress, and that precious shot of the newlyweds driving down Fifth Avenue in a 1933 Rolls Royce convertible make it, in my opinion, the absolute perfect New York City wedding. {This Malibu wedding encapsulated so many things I love about wedding design–new takes on traditional themes (in this case, nautical), a  unique color scheme (peach, navy, black, and white), and lots of interesting details (ombre clothespin backdrop, anyone?). Not to mention, the bride and groom are absolutely beautiful together! Pictures by Shannon Lee Images via Style Me Pretty}

{This wedding stuck out to me because of the pictures of the bride and groom. They seem like the coolest couple, and every picture of them on their big day is overflowing with love and joy! I also loved all the sweet details they included, such as the daisies scattered down the aisle, and the pictures of them doing their choreographed dance cracks me up! {And of course, I had to include my own best friend’s wedding! I will never forget the thrill of sharing that special day with her and her wonderful new husband, surrounded by the prettiest wine color, cheerful flowers, and an abundance of flickering candlelight. What a year! Here’s to many more beautiful brides, stunning photography, and gorgeous weddings in 2012. I hope you’ll join me in admiring them!
Happy New Year’s Eve!

Love,

Lisa
