This is the first June that I’ve spent in college classes, and so far, I can’t say I’m a big fan. I would much rather be at home or planning a fun beach trip than sitting in school! Thankfully, my roommate and I have been trying to find ways make these next few months as much fun as we can, and a list of Austin activities that we want to do this summer is in the works. A heavy helping of beautiful inspiration always makes academics more bearable, so with that in mind, here are a few things inspiring me for the month ahead.
Wedding: Lanterns are nothing new, but I love this fresh take on them. The varying shades of peachy pink are gorgeous, and I love how they look like they’re just floating above the dance floor. This month, I’m going to be looking out for new spins on trendy decor, and this is the perfect example. By Richelle Dante Photography via Style Me Pretty.
Fashion: This picture is from the J. Crew catalog a few years ago, but it definitely sums up the way I think I’ll be dressing this month–effortless and relaxed, with preppy and feminine touches. Via J. Crewing.
Interior design: I’m excited that a DIY, life-sized inspiration board is a project I have in the works! I fell head over heels for Alaina’s board, and since I have an ugly blank spot on one of my walls, I will be recreating this project very soon. By Maia Harms Photography via Live Creating Yourself.
Foodie: I’m sure I’m not the only one who eats a ton more produce in the summer, without even consciously trying. The farmer’s market in Austin is at the top of my “things to do” list, and this grilled peach salad with buffalo mozzarella and arugula might be the perfect farmer’s market meal to make afterwards. Holiday: If the beginning of summer isn’t a holiday, I’m not sure what is! This picture is from when Emily Schuman, of Cupcakes and Cashmere, visited Barton Springs here in Austin–another place I’m anxious to get to! Via Cupcakes and Cashmere.
What’s inspiring you this month?
Love,
Lisa
i made a list the other day too! blueberry picking, lemonade stand, and going to Austin are all on it! :D
Yay for Barton Springs! We’ll have to hit up some fun Austin foodie places and Austin landmarks this summer when I visit!! :)
It sounds like you’ll have plenty to keep you inspired this summer! I’m dreaming about our trip to Mexico, enjoying CA produce, and riding my bike!
