When I sat down to write this post, I decided to check and see when my last Love List post went up because it felt like it had been awhile. Well, it was almost exactly a year ago–yikes! Clearly, there are many things I’ve loved over the last year, but today, I thought I’d share a few particularly recent gems. This was meant to be a quick post after my novel of a half-marathon recap, but I got a little carried away, so stick with me! :)
Tool: I’m two weeks into using the Blessed Is She Liturgical Planner and I love it SO much! I really appreciate the way they incorporated prayers and Scripture throughout, and of course, love the prominent way feast days are listed (in an index at the beginning of the planner, on each monthly page, and on the daily pages–you can’t miss them!). My other favorite feature is the weekly planning page, which I’ve been using during my newly instituted Sunday prep times. There are spots for your meal plan and grocery list, goals, intentions for the week, and notes, so I can do all of my prep work in one place. Both the full-size Planner (which I have) and the Mini Planner are currently 20% off with the code 2019planner, so if you don’t have a planner for the year yet (or just want to switch to this one :)), grab one before they’re gone! I’ll share more about it on Instagram Stories soon, so keep an eye out for that if you want to see more.
Show: I first heard about Samin Nosrat in her Beauty Uniform post on Cup of Jo (anyone else kind of obsessed with that series? I think it’s fascinating!). While browsing for something fun to watch with my parents over Christmas, we came across her four-part Netflix original series that shares a name with her popular cookbook, Salt Fat Acid Heat. Each episode explores one of those four factors that Nosrat believes distinguishes average food from incredible food. She made a completely delightful-to-watch host, and I especially loved seeing the way she immersed herself in different cultures. She spoke the languages, interacted with locals effortlessly, and, of course, tried allll the food. Dave and I have switched salt brands and my parents roasted a chicken in buttermilk the other day, all because of her, so we also clearly learned a thing or two!
Sale: One of my favorite things about working at Gal Meets Glam is the fact that now, a bunch of my friends text me to show me their GMG Collection purchases or to ask me to help them decide which dresses to get–it’s too fun! Y’all can message me on Instagram anytime you’re in the same boat and it will make my day :) In the meantime, here’s a PSA that a few of my favorite pieces went on sale recently! You can find the tweed dress pictured above here and the blush tweed bow jacket I wear all the time here. The tweeds are custom-made for the collection and they are seriously stunning in person–they have the prettiest color combinations, plus a few metallic threads for just a tiny, subtle touch of sparkle.
Podcast: If you’re interested in the fashion industry, retail, marketing, e-commerce, or a combination of all of the above, The Glossy Podcast is a fascinating listen. I started tuning into it quite recently, so I still have a long list of episodes from their archives that I’m eager to catch up on, but a few I’ve especially enjoyed so far have been interviews with Michelle Kelly of Lilly Pulitzer, Alexa Buckley of Margaux, and Mary Reener Beech of Kate Spade.
We’re in the middle of a master bathroom refresh–this is a little peek! More to come soon!
Beauty product: I dragged my feet on buying the Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel for months, because even with my consultant discount, it was pricey for something that is an “add-on” product (ie. not an essential face wash or moisturizer). Well, I finally splurged, and haven’t looked back…this stuff is kind of magical. I use it every other night under my moisturizer and it has made a noticeable difference–my skin is brighter and healthier-looking and my acne scars have faded significantly. If you want to try it out for a lower pricepoint, the travel-sized bottle they launched for the holidays is still available here (plus, Beautycounter has a 60-day return policy, which I think is way more than enough time to decide if this product in particular works for you).
Local spot: Cheating a little on this since I haven’t been there yet, but I’m so anxious to visit Fount Coffee + Kitchen! It looks so beautifully designed, and y’all know I can’t resist a fun coffee shop :)
What’s one random thing you’ve loved lately? I can’t wait to hear. Happy Friday!
We have watched 2/4 of the Episodes! Are you talking about the Diamond Kosher salt? I’ve been meaning to look for it at the store. Haha! Definitely want to try buttermilk roasted chicken. Such a good show!
Yes, haha! We found it at Costco!
Yay love lists are back!!!
That overnight peel sounds like something I want to try after baby arrives in a few weeks! Pregnancy hormones have been surprisingly good to my skin, but I still have acne scars that I would like to see fade.
And yes, go visit Fount! It’s owned by some friends we go to church with and is such great space! Great lattes, lots of good food options, plus wine if you go in the evening!
Oh, so fun! It’s at the top of my list!
All Beautycounter products are safe to use during pregnancy and nursing (!!), so I definitely recommend giving the peel a try :) I love it so much!
We watched Salt Fat Acid Heat this weekend and LOVED it! It was so much fun to watch!
So glad you enjoyed it!!
