As it practically always is, July was busy, hot, and so much fun! We loved the time we got to spend with people on both sides of our family, and we also made a bunch of sweet memories just the three of us. It’s the first month that has made Dave and I feel like we have a little boy, not a baby, which is the most bittersweet feeling I’ve ever experienced! Every weekend in August has something on the calendar, but my biggest hope is that in the midst of it all, we’re able to be present and soak up the rest of Charlie’s first summer.
(More Charlottesville pictures coming soon!)
July Goals
1. Enjoy lots of sweet family/friend time!
2. Train for the Run for Life 5K in August (Um, I signed up, so it’s happening…but training was minimal in July!)
3. “Style,” photograph, and blog our home tour
4. Host a garden party to share Beautycounter with some local friends (See it here!)
5. Celebrate the dedication of the gorgeous new cathedral in Raleigh (our new parish)!! (This was the best! We are SO grateful for this breathtaking new church home!)
6. Try out a new meal planning/grocery shopping system
7. Plan our August trip to Wisconsin to see my Grandma

I’m so excited to see your home tour! August sounds filled to the brim with memories in the making for y’all! :)
Thanks, Kyla! Now to get my act together and photograph it, haha! :)
I am most excited for #6!
Yay!!
I wanna go to WI too :)
I would say do it, but I want you to save your money for a plane ticket to Charlie’s birthday party :)
What’s your new meal planning/shopping system?
I think I’m going to post about it soon, so stay tuned!
Well at least we’ll both be in the same boat for this 5K! Guess that’s a sign I should go for a run today…
I ran today!! Step one, haha!
Charlie’s first birthday…. how is this possible?! Sweetest milestone!!
I knooow! I can’t believe it. So happy/sad, as I know you understand!
Sounds like you have a really fun month ahead of you. I’m looking forward to seeing your house tour on the blog!
August ist always bittersweet for me because it is the last month of summer. I love fall but in September the weather is still so much in between that it’s not really summer anymore but still too hot for all that is good about fall (I look at you PSL :D). So we always go on vacation in August to make it the best month of summer and as always we spend a week with my entire family in Austria. I’m giddy with excitement and can’t wait for August 13th to be here :-)
Goodness! One already?! How exciting, mama. I cannot wait to see the sweet celebration I know you’ll be so thoughtful in putting together. Miss you!
Gosh, I can’t believe it–I didn’t think I’d get emotional about it but I get teary every time I try to work on party plans!! It is not the most efficient way to get things done, haha :) I miss you too, and LOVED your interview on the Goal Digger podcast last week. Let’s catch up soon! xoxo
