I sometimes have a tricky time figuring out how to balance posting about two topics I love writing about: faith and personal style. Obviously (I hope!), my faith is the most important thing in my life, far outweighing anything related to fashion. That said, I believe that God is the one who gave me a creative heart and a lifelong interest and enjoyment in putting outfits together, so I don’t need to be ashamed for loving those things! I try to embrace the freedom to share both here on Something Pretty, but some of my favorite blogging opportunities are when those topics intersect in a seamless and meaningful way. Such is the case today!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the chance to connect with Nina of Petite Fleur Earrings over our shared love for style, stories, and our faith. I had spotted her gorgeous clay earrings on a few Instagram friends, and when I realized that every pair is inspired by and named for a Saint (plus a few for special people in her life), I knew I wanted to post about them. We teamed up over on Instagram to give away a $50 gift card to Petite Fleur Earrings plus the Beautycounter lipstick of the winner’s choice—the combination is the perfect way to give your winter outfits a little refresh while we wait for spring :) Enter to win here and see below for my personal favorite earring + lipstick pairings!
Athena Studs + Color Intense Lipstick in Garden Party: Spoiler alert, I might wear this exact look for Valentine’s Day. Garden Party is the prettiest raspberry hue that I love paired with the mauve of the Athena Studs (they also come in a dangly version) and my favorite blush velvet headband (similar here).
Elizabeth Earrings (launching February 1) + Lip Sheer in Poppy: Tortoise accessories have such a classic feel and go with everything, so I couldn’t resist the Elizabeth earrings. For a casual weekend look, I paired them with my favorite cream cardigan (similar here) and a swipe of Poppy Lip Sheer—a subtle, slightly shimmery pink-red.
Francesca Earrings (launching on February 1) + Color Intense Lipstick in Girls’ Night: This combination might be my favorite! My love for a classic red lip is well-documented, especially as an accent to a neutral outfit. The Francesca was named in honor of St. Francis, and the leopard-esque pattern nods to how he ministered to lepers. So clever!
Zelie Earrings + Color Intense Lipstick in First Date: The first pair of Petite Fleur earrings I fell in love with, the Zelie was named for one of my all-time favorite Saints and nods to her work as an Alenćon lacemaker. The ivory color would go with anything, but I wore them with a fresh pink lip for a feminine look.
Here’s the link again to enter the giveaway, which ends on Friday! In the meantime, which look is your favorite? I’d love to hear!
