Bluebonnet Bride

Spring

If you’ve been reading Something Pretty for any length of time, you probably recognize my sister Dana’s name. She has commented on practically every post I’ve ever published…818 comments, to be exact! I can hardly think of a better representation of her personality–she is one of the most loyal, supportive, and caring people I’ve ever known. When Lauren, the sweet founder of the bride-to-be boutique, Eternal Ivory, reached out to me about sharing one of her darling dresses, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get Dana out of the comment box and into a post herself!

Dana and Ian have not had the easiest engagement season–they weathered Ian’s nine-month deployment, and are now preparing to move across the country to Missouri as soon as they get home from their honeymoon. Her bridal shower fell after a particularly stressful week, so I was grateful that Eternal Ivory made choosing her shower dress SO easy for her. They offer a curated selection of beautiful little white dresses that are classic, but completely memorable–exactly what I expect most brides are looking to wear for their pre-wedding events. Dana opted for the Maggie dress, which has the prettiest, subtle floral jacquard fabric and a fun tiered skirt. We surprised Dana with a flower crown at the party (made by one of my best friends, Aelish of Ten Fold Floral) and I think you’ll agree, the result was total Texas Hill Country princess bride :)

Eternal Ivory launches their spring collection on Thursday, so if you’re engaged and on the hunt for an engagement photo/engagement party/bridal shower/rehearsal dinner dress, I can’t recommend taking a peek at their selection enough. I loved connecting with Lauren about our shared heart for brides, our Catholic faith, and our young families (she has a little boy around Charlie’s age and a brand new baby girl). I know she would take the best care of any bride who was looking for dress recommendations or styling tips!

If you’re engaged or married, I want to hear about what you wore/are wearing to your bridal shower! You can see my showers from back in the day here and here. I bought the white dress I wore to both exactly one year before our wedding, when we were in Charleston for our friends Callie and Jamie‘s big day!

Thank you so much to Eternal Ivory for generously providing Dana with her beautiful dress, and for your support of the brands that support Something Pretty! xo
