How to Switch to Beautycounter Makeup on a Budget

Beauty

Please forgive me if you’ve already seen me post about this on Instagram…but I am so pumped about it, I wanted to make sure it got some blog love too! ;)

One of the comments I’ve heard the most since I joined Beautycounter earlier this summer is that people know some of their products are potentially harmful (take a peek at the SkinDeep database to check on yours) and want to switch, but also want to make sure they get the most bang for their buck. And I totally get that because I’m the same way, and Beautycounter prices are definitely more department store than drugstore. It’s tempting to want to overhaul your makeup bag if you find out the products you’re currently using aren’t doing you any favors health-wise, but those dollar signs add up fast. So how to switch to safer beauty without kissing your budget goodbye?

Beautycounter just launched a new offering called 5-Minute Face, and if you’re hoping to switch up your products in one high-impact swoop, I think this is absolutely the way to do it. The collection, which is customizable according to the shades/formulas you want, includes the six staple Beautycounter makeup products that you can wear every single day. Let’s break it down, shall we?

Tint Skin Foundation: I wear this daily, and have been so happy using it for everything from my normal days at home with Charlie to needing a photo-ready look as a bridesmaid. It has medium coverage, feels lightweight and hydrating, and doesn’t make my skin oily.

Touchup Skin Concealer Pen: This is another one of my must-haves, since I have some acne scars and appreciate the extra coverage sometimes. It can also be used under eyes and for any redness.

Color Define Brow Pencil: I haven’t used this yet, but love that it has a pencil on one side and a brush on the other. I started filling in my eyebrows just a few years ago, and now, it’s the one makeup step I won’t leave my house without doing!

Lengthening or Volumizing Mascara: These two mascaras are brand new to Beautycounter, and I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews so far!

Powder Blush Duo: Samantha of Lula Hair and Makeup (I interviewed her here!) uses this blush, and since I always look my best when she does my makeup, I trust her recommendation wholeheartedly. I can’t wait to get my hands on Tawny/Whisper for fall!

Lip Gloss: I’m more of a lipstick girl, but if you can’t resist a good gloss, you’ll love this one! I’ve tried it in Peony and thought the color was so pretty and wearable, and the formula was light and moisturizing.

So best of all? By ordering the set versus the products individually, you’ll save almost $50. You can create your perfect 5-Minute Face set here, and if you place your order by August 18 (this Friday!), you’ll also receive a free Retractable Foundation Brush (a $35 value), created to be perfect for applying Tint Skin.

One last way to get the MOST bang for your buck with Beautycounter makeup…if you sign up for a Band of Beauty Membership, you’ll get free shipping (on orders of $100+, which the 5-Minute Face is), 15% product credit, and a complimentary Eye Shadow Duo in Pearl/Champagne. The yearly membership is $29 and the Eye Shadow Duo retails for $34, so it’s kind of like getting that at a discount, plus perks :) You can learn more about the membership and add it to your order here.

As always, if you have any questions about Beautycounter products/ingredients, the best shades for your skin tone, or anything else, leave a comment or email me!

Hi Emma! They don’t have a primer, but I haven’t needed one with their foundation. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
