I cannot even bring myself to call this a recipe, but if you need a super quick, kid-friendly, portable, easy Fourth of July dessert to whip up for tomorrow, this is the one! Every July, I find myself going back to admire the fun summer staycation shoot my friend Callie photographed of Dave and me for Southern Weddings back in 2015. This year’s annual revisit reminded me of the mason jar parfaits I threw together as a prop, so I thought I might share the how-to today!
- Whipped cream
- Pound cake (the pre-made one at your grocery store bakery is just fine!), cut into cubes
- Raspberries and/or quartered strawberries
Layer each ingredient in a mason jar…and that is it :) If you’re having a party with a bunch of kids, I love the idea of laying out all the ingredients and letting them assemble their own. Brownies pieces would also be a delicious, albeit less on-theme, addition!
