Lifestyle

Phew…2016 has been QUITE the year in the Kirk family! Finding out we were expecting on January 20 meant that our entire year, from beginning to end, was consumed with planning, preparing for, and adjusting to life with our new family member. It made blogging particularly exciting this year, and as always, I’m thankful to have all these posts to look back on. As we close the door on this life-changing year, I wanted to share a few of my favorite 2016 blog posts!

A fun trip to Maman NYC kicked off my new Style series.

Almost a year after the big day, I finally shared the story of our wedding! Recapped in eight posts: Our wedding morning, our first look, our ceremony, our portraits, our cocktail hour, our reception details, our reception moments, and our highlights film.

Our rehearsal dinner was the sweetest start to our wedding weekend.

As soon as our wedding was blogged, I announced we were expecting!

My gorgeous friend Aelish‘s wedding was such a joy to be a part of, and I was so happy she let me share the photos!

We spent our first anniversary in my childhood home of Singapore, recapped here: part 1 and part 2

After having a baby, buying a house was our biggest life change this year. I recapped our house hunt here: part 1 and part 2

Our home tour on move-in day!

Five things always in my fridge was a kind of random, but really fun post–I’d love to do more of these in 2017!

Our baby showers were so joyful! We celebrated with a backyard barbecue in Syracuse and a French-inspired summer white party in North Carolina.

I shared our newlywed apartment tour right after we closed on our new house.

Our nursery tour was totally surreal to post–this room remains our favorite :)

Our downtown Raleigh maternity photos are some of my favorites ever taken of us–plus, the inspiration behind them means so much to me.

Charles Kolbe arrived on September 22!!

Charlie’s baptism party was a highlight of the year–he was baptized in the church where Dave and I were married, and then we hosted a dinner party for 19 in our house!

Our newborn photos rounded out a year of Callie (of Nancy Ray Photography) capturing our most special moments. We’re beyond grateful for her!

Thank you, friends, for joining me during such an exciting year! Here’s hoping 2017 is a lot more relaxing, but every bit as joyful :)
