Two weekends ago, Dave and I hit the road to Syracuse for our first baby shower! I was so touched when my in-laws insisted on throwing a party to celebrate baby Kirk, and when we realized that we could drive there and back over Fourth of July weekend without having to take time off of work, plans began to come together. The Kirks’ fantastic backyard and Dave’s favorite barbecue restaurant in Syracuse inspired my hope for a super low-key, co-ed, backyard barbecue shower where the whole family could gather and just enjoy being together, without having to worry about games or gift opening. Especially since we don’t get to see Dave’s extended family too often, I definitely didn’t want him to miss out on time with anyone if we did a traditional, women-only shower, and this party ended up being the perfect solution. My mother-in-law and sisters-in-law crafted just the right number of details to make the party extra special, and I think everyone had as much fun as Dave and I did!
oh my goodness this is such a fun looking little shower! And y’all are glowing, can’t wait for baby’s arrival. :)
It was a blast, we are so grateful! :) Thanks for your sweet words!
This looks awesome and SO fun!! My sister in law is expecting her second baby, this post makes me think that I should throw them a baby-que to celebrate! :)
LOVE that idea! It’d be a great theme for a “sprinkle,” for sure! :)
Aww so cute!! They did such a wonderful job!
Agreed!
What a sweet celebration!
It was so much fun! :)
what a perfect theme for a co-ed shower – and those koozies are such a cute favor!
One of my favorites too! My mother-in-law is so creative! :)
The invitation is so awesome! And of course, I just generally love the pun-based theme :)
My father-in-law designed it, believe it or not! I was so impressed :)
Love the idea of a baby shower for everyone and not just women! Looks like y’all had a great time and a fun holiday weekend :)
