While I felt confident about our ceremony and cocktail hour details, I admit, I was a little uncertain about how our reception was going to look. Thankfully, everything turned out beautifully, and looking back almost a year later, I’m still so happy with the decisions that we made! We kept thing pretty simple, incorporating just a few details and putting our focus on the overall impact of the room (we splurged on a fabulous black and white dance floor, as well as twinkle lights and white draping–we ended up splitting the cost with the couple who got married at our venue the day before us!) and the tables. My mom sewed all of our gray and white ticking stripe table runners, which I think made the tables–plus, we got to keep them! I can’t wait to reuse them someday when we have a dining room table. :) We also collected tons of silver candlesticks for our gray and white taper candles, and Paper Daisies Stationery designed perfectly crisp menus for each place setting, featuring our monogram by Moya Minns.
A few more things you’ll see in this post: Dave and I snuggled up at a sweetheart table in the center of the room for dinner. I love how popular sweetheart tables are now–they’re such a perfect way to actually sit down, eat, and talk to each other! We didn’t do place cards for our guests, but I couldn’t resist getting them for the two of us–I wanted to see my new last name in calligraphy :) Our cake honestly fell pretty short in my opinion, but it tasted delicious, and in the end, I suppose that’s what really matters. We provided our own cake server and knife to keep as heirlooms–I’d love to pass them down someday! We also set up a family photo display that included not only our parents and grandparents, but all of Dave’s siblings as well. They all have wonderful marriages and I’m grateful to have their footsteps to follow in! Last but not least, we had a display of four of our favorite desserts for guests to help themselves to. We didn’t get a picture of the full display, but I do have a sweet and vivid memory of going over to the table to see how it all looked during the reception, and I promise it was cute! :)
Next up, and last but not least, my favorite reception moments!
P.S. Thank you, Ryan Ray, for these beautiful images!

Beautiful! My favorite detail from this post though, is how neat it is that y’all got to share those costs with the other couple getting married that weekend! How awesome!
It was such a blessing…especially because it freed up some of our budget that we put toward extra time with Ryan! :)
