There were two things in particular that made our time taking portraits after the ceremony so wonderful: 1. We chose to do them in a beautiful spot at our reception venue rather than inside our church, and 2. Our photographer, Ryan Ray, could not have been more efficient! We got so many comments from our family and friends about how smoothly and quickly it ran. The weather was breezy and beautiful, no one was standing around for long, and these pictures are my favorites from the day–what a gift! As soon as we all arrived at Fearrington, Ryan took family portraits, then bridal party portraits (he did take the all-girls and all-boys pictures earlier in the day, which saved us some time in the afternoon), then portraits of just Dave and me. As each group finished, they were able to head over to the Garden House on the property for champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and then join the party at our cocktail hour whenever they wanted. Dave and I headed over to cocktail hour at the very end to kick off the reception–I’ll be sharing more about that later this week!
