I’m so delighted to share Something Pretty’s makeover today! While the look and feel are very similar to my previous design, there are a few subtle changes, as well as a some fun new features. Here’s a little overview of what’s new!

The top navigation bar: This is where you’ll find some of the most important pages on the site. The bar moves with you as you scroll, so it’ll always be super easy to head back to Home, find my About page, or contact me. I also included my Daily Reads (maybe more for me than for y’all? Regardless, head over there if you ever feel like checking out some of my favorite blogs!), and a new Shop page–more on that below!

The header navigation bar: This is where you can easily find posts by category. I included Style, Celebrations, Weddings, and Lifestyle, since those are the four things I blog about most (or have blogged about most, or will be blogging about most, depending on the category!). Weddings has a landing page, as well as a dropdown menu where you can choose from My Wedding, Real Weddings (from Something Pretty’s past life as a wedding blog), and Inspiration Boards (ditto). While I don’t post much in the Wedding category anymore (with the exception of my wedding, which I’m excited to share more about soon!!), it’s where my blog started, so it’s important to me that it’s all still there for y’all to see. Lifestyle has a dropdown menu as well, which includes Home, Travel, and Fitness.

The Style page: This is one of the biggest reasons I decided to redesign! I’ve learned over the last few months and through diving into my PowerSheets that I feel called to share a lot more style content on Something Pretty. I know there are a bajillion fashion blogs out there, and for a long time, I thought I couldn’t possibly add to that space, but I’ve realized that I do bring something unique to the table: 1. I think fashion is fun, but it’s so far from the most important thing in the world. 2. Wearing something that is trendy is not important. Wearing something that makes me feel comfortable, confident, and true to my identity as a daughter of God is. 3. Going to my closet can be a joyful part of every day! With all that said, my goal is to post a new outfit every week, and I sincerely hope these posts are fun and encouraging to read. You’ll find them all at a glance on the Style page, which then links to a straightforward, shop-able post and a link to the original blog post. I’m so excited to add to this page!

The Shop page: Between searching for ideas for my own content and reading tons of other blogs, I’m always finding unique items and new things I love. Now, I’m housing them all in an easy-to-find, shop-able page that I plan to update at the beginning of every month! On the Shop page, you’ll find that month’s fashion, beauty, and home favorites–sometimes, it’ll be 50 products, and sometimes, it might be only 10, but I promise to only share things I genuinely love (and want to buy, or have bought, for myself).
