For all of the adorable Christmas decorations in stores this month (let alone the fact that Christmas is in a week!), I haven’t been able to bring myself to buy anything for my apartment just yet. One of the sweetest things about Christmas decor is the way it’s used year after year, sometimes for decades–I still have the same stocking at my parents’ house that I’ve had since I was little, and I’m sure I’m not the only one ;) Dave and I try hard to be thoughtful about our home purchases, holiday decor included, and every time I’ve considered adding something to our tiny collection, I get overwhelmed trying to figure out if I’ll still love it in 20 years! I’d love to have a few pieces to remember our first married Christmas by, so to get past my indecision, I rounded up these inspiration photos of clean, classic Christmas decor that’s just rustic enough to look cozy.

I’m excited to use this inspiration to shop some post-Christmas sales–since we’re heading out of town this weekend, we’re not feeling much pressure to fully decorate the apartment. We’ll be driving up to Syracuse to spend Christmas with Dave’s family, and are stopping in New York City for the weekend on the way. I can’t wait! Follow along on Instagram, if you’d like :)
Oh my goodness! I’m just so excited for you to experience first married Christmas! Truly one of my favorite memories. I’m so jealous that y’all are getting to stop in New York for the weekend.. what a sweet way for the two of you to celebrate the milestone holiday! :) Merry Christmas!!
We might be borrowing your tradition of reading Luke 2 together on Christmas morning–I love that idea so much! :) Merry Christmas to you THREE!!!
Lady, you know I love every inch of this! John’s mama sent us an evergreen and magnolia wreath this year, and after we tucked our tree into a galvanized bucket, I called it a decorating day! Enjoy your first married Christmas, and happy everything!
That sounds perfect! Merry Christmas to you too, and hope all is well in your new home! <3
Have so much fun in NYC and afterwards have a happy Christmas with family! It’s really the best part of celebrating Jesus’ birthday that we get to do it with the people we love. I’ve been praying for snow in Syracuse so I hope you’ll get some ;-)
That’s so sweet of you–we’re still praying too! :)
I can see the pretty wreaths fitting in perfectly in your apartment! Also a mini tree since that’s all you can probably fit.
