Fall Decor in a Neutral Home

Inspiration Boards

It’s funny how I don’t think much about specific spring or summer decor, but as soon as fall rolls around, I find myself itching to decorate my entire apartment! Maybe it’s because colder days mean more time inside? Regardless, with mine and Dave’s apartment pretty much put together (you can find our inspiration here and here), I’m turning my attention to seasonal pieces and details that can be part of our home for years to come. We’re all about whites, neutrals, and shades of blue around here, so I love the idea of adding just a few purposeful touches of copper, burnt orange, and apple red to make our space feel festive, but not overdone or forced. Here’s some of the inspiration I rounded up:

I have my eye on these mugs, this throw blanket, and this spoon rest (a cheaper alternative to a teapot for a pop of copper on the stove) in particular. Though honestly, I hate buying things full-price, so there’s a good chance I’ll wait till the end of the season and just stock up for next year!

How do you approach seasonal decorating in your home? Do you have any favorite things that you pull out just for fall?

I saw mugs like that at Marshall’s! I love copper and rose gold. I nearly passed out from self control in Target because of all their rose gold and marble home decor.

I love ghost pumpkins for exactly this reason! They feel cozy and fall-ish, without being an in-your-face, Halloween-only type decoration. This year I used some metallic foil transfer paper on them, and I’m so proud…one of few craft ideas that has looked similar in real life to the picture in my head haha
