Q Weddings for Camille Styles{One of my favorite shots from Camille Styles’ Style Me Pretty Living shoot, by Q Weddings}

Dear friends,

I just want to apologize for not blogging much over the last few weeks since I graduated, and I want to explain what has been going on a bit. I can’t go into too much detail yet, but I promise I’ll share everything soon!

I started blogging in December 2010 from a my very cold, very un-cute apartment in Pittsburgh. I had just completed my first internship, which was at Pittsburgh Magazine. It changed my life, not only because it solidified my desire to work in bridal magazines, but also because it introduced me to blogging. I was assigned an article for the Weddings edition on a local marriage blogger, which led me to food blogs, and then fashion blogs, and finally, wedding blogs. Jessica Sloane‘s wedding was featured the day I discovered Style Me Pretty. I started blogging about weddings exclusively in March 2011, and it has given me more opportunities and experiences and even dear friends than I ever imagined it would. However, as much as I enjoy blogging, it has always been a means to an end for me. My first love has always been magazines, and this blog has first and foremost been my way of challenging myself to learn the wedding industry as well as I could and to write about it regularly.

The full story of how this happened will come later, but long story short, three days after graduation, I was offered my dream job at a bridal magazine. It’s the job I’ve always had in the back of my mind as my impossible goal. But truly, anything is possible through the Lord, and by His grace and in His timing, it happened. I still can’t believe it, and at the end of this month, I’ll be moving across the country to get started. Y’all, I am SO excited and grateful. I can’t wait to share more, but for now, I do want to apologize for the irregular blogging. The main reason is that I’m spending as much time with my family as I can before I move at the end of the month, and I still have lots to do before that happens. I’ll still be blogging every once in awhile, but for the most part, I’ll be taking the rest of this month off of blogging regularly. If you’d like, you can always follow me on Instagram and Twitter if you want to see what I’m up to!

Have a wonderful June!

Love, Lisa
