Even though I’m throwing a little party this weekend for my 23rd, I wanted to do something special on my actual birthday too. When I discovered that my new favorite florist in Austin, Carly of Margot Blair Floral, hosts floral arrangement classes, I knew it would be the perfect activity. We set up the date, I invited a few of my best girlfriends, and we all gathered at an incredible home cooking school in East Austin on Monday night. Y’all, we were blown away! Not only was this one of the coolest spaces I’ve ever been in, we were also completely spoiled with a gorgeous spread of appetizers and specialty cocktails to enjoy before we got to work. After eating and chatting, we got set up at the flower arranging table Carly had prepared and picked out the blooms we wanted to work with. In another serendipitous moment, I hadn’t even told Carly any of my favorite flowers, but she picked up exactly what I would have wanted: peonies, ranunculus, sweet pea, billy balls, and even dusty miller. If I ever got married in Austin someday, she would be my florist in a heartbeat–she just got me! She walked us through making our own bouquets, and we had the best time playing with flower combinations and arrangements. I love how everyone’s turned out so beautifully and differently!

It was such a fun birthday evening, and I’m so grateful to Carly and Brit for hosting us and sharing their talents. Anyone in Austin looking for a unique girls night out, I cannot recommend this highly enough!
Love, Lisa
