One of my goals when I moved to Austin a year and a half ago was to turn my room into a space that I truly loved being in. I had been blogging for almost a year and was looking forward to some new internships, and with those things on top of school, I knew I would be spending a lot of time at my desk. Through quite a bit of planning, thoughtful purchases, and a few rearrangements, I can definitely say that my room now feels like home. It’s relaxing and pretty and holds tons of my favorite things–from the Tiffany’s boxes displayed on my bookshelf to the oversized inspiration board I made. Another favorite DIY project is the tassel garland that hangs above my desk. I used tissue paper saved from my Birchboxes and a Kate Spade birthday present, plus ribbon I already had, so it cost nothing to make and I get complimented on it all the time.
Since garlands are naturally festive, using them at a wedding is one of my current favorite ideas. This ceremony space is the perfect example, photographed by Our Labor of Love and featured on Green Wedding Shoes. From the disco ball to the colorful tassel garlands, the bride and groom created such a beautiful and celebratory setting to become husband and wife.
Have a fun weekend!
