Dress Envy: Jacin of Lovely Little Details

Weddings

Thursdays are quickly becoming my favorite day of the week thanks to all these gorgeous blogging brides! Today’s Blogger Dress Envy post features the beautiful Jacin–wedding planner extraordinaire at Lovely Little Details. I have always loved Jacin’s New England-meets-California style, her genius use of mason jars, and the gorgeous floral arrangements she creates. Plus, she’s always been such an amazing inspiration and support to me and my blog! Now without further ado, her exquisite, one-of-a-kind gown and fab Louboutins. :)

My dress was custom made by Ally Bridal in Hoboken, New Jersey.

I knew my dress was “the one” when…I put it on. It was a custom design, handmade by a seamstress in Hoboken, NJ, and I wasn’t sure about trying it on. I always had my eye on a Monique Lhuillier but it just wasn’t in my budget (though I splurged on Louboutins!), so I went to a local dress shop in Hoboken and went searching for the romantic, lace gown I had in my head. My dress was originally a boat neck style, and when Ally, the seamstress saw me, she said “I have just the dress for you.” I saw the neckline and said “sorry that’s not my style”, but within seconds (and with pins galore) Ally had transformed the dress in to exactly what I had envisioned. One look in the mirror and I was sold.

My favorite thing about my dress was…the swiss dot lace detailing along the bottom. It was a hidden accent that no one really noticed but me, but I was obsessed with it. I loved the playful addition it brought to my otherwise elegant gown.

I accessorized my dress with…my mother’s mantilla veil, hand made by my grandmother (mother’s mother). My mom wore it on her wedding day and I swear, I’ve had my eyes on it since I was a child. It was such an honor to wear it on my wedding day. I originally contemplated wearing my mom’s wedding dress, also made by my grandmother, but I ended up being able to convert it in to a shorter “cocktail” type of dress to wear to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It was so special to be able to wear both items for my big day.

Thank you so much, Jacin!

Love,

Lisa
