Happy May 1st! May marks the end of my senior year of college, my month of summer break, and lots of graduations. I’ve been very slowly adjusting to the idea of graduating a year late over this past year, and even though I’m proud of the choices I’ve made in my four years of college, it’s still going to be bittersweet to see my friends from Ohio that I started school with graduating soon. I’m trying to focus on all of the wonderful positive things, and I’m looking forward to spending as much time as I can with the people I love and enjoying every minute of this month ahead. Here are a few things I’m being inspired by in blogging and in life. :)
Wedding: May is Kentucky Derby month, so mint juleps are a natural source of inspiration (in fact, you may see this picture in an upcoming inspiration board… ;)), but what I really love about this shot is the combination of the classic calligraphy with whimsical striped straws. Fashion: If you love preppy style and you aren’t following Sarah Vickers on Classy Girls Wear Pearls, you need to start immediately. Every single one of her outfits is perfect, and I’m especially loving this tunic-dress-and-Navajos combination for early summer. Via Classy Girls Wear Pearls.
Interior design: In light of how much Jackie Kennedy has been inspiring me especially lately, I’m loving this shot of her dressing room from the White House. It reminds me of Marie Antoinette, which I suppose is only fitting for the closest thing to American royalty! Via Architectural Digest.
Foodie: I’ll be spending most of May at home before coming back to Austin for summer classes, and one thing I love in particular about being home is pancakes. Eating them alone just isn’t the same as eating them at home with my family! I’m intrigued by this Blueberry Pie Pancakes recipe, especially since blueberries are one of my favorite summer flavors. Via Chocolate-Covered Katie.
Holiday: I know that Mother’s Day is synonymous with breakfasts in bed, but since my mom taught me about the delight of afternoon tea at a very early age, I think this would be more her style. Though I’m sure she wouldn’t argue with either one! Via {this is glamorous}
What’s inspiring you for the month ahead?
