I’m so honored to be guest posting on Michaela Noelle Designs today, in her “She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not” series! I am a huge fan of Michaela’s blog–she is so sweet, not to mention an incredibly talented interior designer. My room would not look half as cute as it does if it weren’t for advice I picked up from Michaela!
Interior design is something I love, but it doesn’t come very naturally to me. However, thanks to bloggers like Michaela, House Beautiful magazine, and the wonderfulness that is Pinterest, I’ve picked up some tips and recently made a fun little inspiration board for my future house.
{Cozy neutral-colored bedroom: Padgett Hoke| Navy, white, and gold reading nook: Apartment Therapy| White and gold living room: Decor Pad| French-inspired bathroom: House Beautiful| Navy blue door: From Greenwich| Cutest laundry room ever: Houzz| Colored kitchen island: Apartment Therapy| Sunny breakfast nook: Better Homes and Gardens| Exposed beams, white, and colored bar stools: House of Turquoise}
I would say the overall theme is lots of neutrals with splashes of sunny color and metallics, plus an abundance of pretty details. I had to get lots of navy blue in there too, because it’s the boyfriend’s favorite color! How elegant is that door?
We chat a lot about weddings style here on Something Pretty, but how would you describe your design style? Any favorite tips or tricks?
Love,
Lisa
i love the turquoise bar stools with the black countertop and the little blue island with the cute yellow kitchen things on it! my future house will have to be really bright during the day, with lots of windows and nice colors!
LIsa! THank you so much for posting today! It just went up and I love it (:
pretty!!! i would visit all the time! :)
What gorgeous inspiration! I’m also not a home design guru, but I do love a well stocked bar cart or liquor cabinet, full bookcases and the best art you can afford!
Cute blog! Found you through Michaela’s. And yes, pinterest is a simple “must” for decor ideas!
I love the color scheme you picked – it’s somehow calming a nd energizing at the same time. I love all the bright, natural light in these pictures too.
