Wedding cakes have really grown on me. I got a little caught up in the bite-sized-wedding-desserts thing for awhile(working in a cupcake bakery over the summer certainly didn’t help that… ;)), but I’ve realized that I just wasn’t seeing cakes that were my style. Now, thanks to some seriously gorgeous cakes and talented bakers/artists I’ve found lately, plus a lovely cake cutting moment at the BFF’s wedding (of which there might be a teaser picture below!), I think I am officially on board with the classic. Here is my number one favorite example of an autumn-themed cake:
{Autumn Chocolate Layer Cake with Buttercream}
Enjoy it at: a cozy, indoor wedding in the middle of the fall, amidst perfect gold glassware and rustic white and brown details. I think the buttercream is what really sells me! This shoot on Grey Likes Weddings is one of my all-time favorites, by the way, so be sure to give it a look.
And as promised, here’s a picture of my gorgeous BFF and her new husband cutting their cake…that’s her mom and dad’s cake topper on top!
Have a sweet day!
Love,
Lisa
that’s not enough cake for a lot of people though!
awww sumners <3
Love those messy buttercream beauties, but the bride’s parents’ cake topper totally stole my heart-how sweet!
Love that she used her parents’ cake topper. Hope to see more of the wedding!
but its so little :( however, the sumner cake was PERFECT :)
Glad everyone enjoyed our cake!! :) Charlie with Cakes by Charlie did an amazing job for sure!
