The South has lots of fun wedding traditions–my Ohioan boyfriend had never heard of a groom’s cake before I told him I have the best idea ever for his in the future! One of my favorites is the wonderfully fun tradition of bridal portraits. First of all, a little confession… I love getting my picture taken (if anyone in Texas ever does a styled shoot and needs a model, sign me up, it is a goal of mine!), so you’d better believe that the way I see it, the more wedding photo opps, the better. Then there’s the logistical things that make bridals beneficial–another opportunity to wear your gorgeous dress, seeing how your dress goes with your hair and makeup (get your trials done that day), breaking in your shoes a little, getting more comfortable with your photographer, etc. Plus, it just looks really fun!!
These stunning brides are from Grey Likes Weddings, Southern Weddings, Southern Aisle (Lauren, you’re beautiful!), Southern Weddings, Grey Likes Weddings, Southern Weddings, Southern Aisle, Style Me Pretty, Southern Weddings, and Wedding Chicks.
Did/will you get bridal portraits done? I’d love to hear any pros and cons!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love,
Lisa
P.S. A huge welcome to any new readers stopping by from Hey Gorgeous!! :)
Well lookie there – haha! Thanks Lisa for picking one of my portraits! Have a fab day!
i didnt know there was a whole special day for this! duh im going to do this!
of course its a good idea! the girl in the 5th picture in the wheat field…her hair is PERFECT
I kind of regret my bridal portraits… my photographer went very generic and traditional with the settings (i was just in front of some pretty landscaping on the UA campus). I wish we’d done something a little more fun like the pictures above. These are all gorgeous!
that photo of the bride in her dress and pointe shoes is stunning. i like the creativity of that.
