Love Like the Movies

Weddings

I am always so impressed when people take a favorite movie and successfully infuse the details into a wedding that is chic, elegant, fun, and not cheesy at all. It can be really hard to take inspiration so literally without going overboard! To finish off the week here on Something Pretty, I thought it would be fun to take a look at my all-time favorite movie-inspired weddings, photo shoots, and engagements sessions. Be sure to check out all the links to see the full photo shoots…they’re incredible!

{The Wizard of Oz: definitely my all time favorite photo shoot–Dorothy’s wedding! Every character has their own place setting, and the details could not be more adorable or perfect. From Style Me Pretty}

{500 Days of Summer: lots of shades of blue, city skyline details, and a rooftop pancake buffet reception. I think Zooey Deschanel would approve, don’t you? From Green Wedding Shoes}

{Up: this is one of my favorite movies ever, so I loved this so much…I wish I was friends with this couple so I could’ve been a guest at their adorable wedding! From Green Wedding Shoes}

{Amelie: this colorful inspiration shoot made me move Amelie up on my Netflix queue. I love the vibrant colors, and the details are so interesting. Yup, need to see this movie!! From Green Wedding Shoes}

{Water for Elephants: wow… and this is just the dessert table!  This shoot has the most perfect vintage circus feel, just like the movie. From Green Wedding Shoes}

{Twilight: okay, let me put out a little disclaimer here–I really, really hate the Twilight books. And the movies. This photo shoot on the other hand? I love it. The amazing vendors took inspiration from the little snippets of the wedding scene in the new Twilight movie trailer, and created this impressive blue and gray 1920s art deco wedding shoot out of it. From Green Wedding Shoes}

{The Notebook: seriously, who doesn’t love it?? This gorgeous couple took their engagement pictures inspired by this favorite chick flick, and the results are so romantic and sweet. From Green Wedding Shoes}

Pretty impressive! What movies would you like to see turned into wedding inspiration? I think Midnight in Paris, Moulin Rouge, and Pride and Prejudice have lots of potential… :)

Have a great weekend!

Love,

Lisa

  1. Kristen says:

    i loooove all of them!!! the first 3 and the notebook ones are my faves

  2. Oh, wow. These images are absolutely gorgeous! (LOVE the ‘500 Days Of Summer’ one! :D )

  3. These are so pretty! I especially love the first and last one! I think if I had to chose a movie theme for my wedding it would probably be something Jane Austen :)

  4. You will love love love Amelie – seriously right up your alley. I’m right there with you on Twilight. Have you ever read the tumblr Reasoning with Vampires? It points out what a terrible writer Stephanie Moyer (is that her name?) is and it will absolutely make you laugh out loud.
