Fall Weddings

Moving right along through the seasons… today I have some gorgeous fall wedding pictures to show you, as well as the pros and cons of tying the knot between September and November. Check it out!

Gorgeous produce available, like apples and pumpkins. Beautiful scenery. Perfect time to use deep colors and jewel tones, but can also get creative with color combinations of dark and muted tones (blush and plum, or orange and slate, perhaps?) Dahlias, chrysanthemums, and asters in season.

Unpredictable weather, from an Indian summer to an early snowfall. Possible tendency to gravitate towards fall stereotypes. Lots of holidays can make finding a convenient weekend a little bit tricky.

It makes me a little sad that so many fall brides take the cookie cutter route with orange and brown colors, and heaven forbid, excessive leaf decor, when fall has so much more potential! I am smitten with the rich textures (velvet! lace!), dramatic color combinations, and delicious foods that are in season. Plus, my parents’ anniversary is in November, and my BFF is currently planning her October wedding, so fall weddings are close to my heart!¬†Any thoughts?

i never like the super-autumn-themed weddings on four weddings. like with the pumpkins and stuff. eh. but i like the apples in the bike picture!

  5. I love fall weddings, but only when they’re not FALL WEDDINGS with pumpkins and leaves and haystacks everywhere. You’re right – there are so many more color options, so I don’t know why people limit themselves to shades of orange and brown.

  6. […] true! Y’all know of my aversion to pumpkins at fall weddings (with the exception of these and these), but I have never once said anything against pumpkin desserts! Especially if they’re […]
