Packing for Hawaii

Weddings

Today’s destination is one of the all-time most popular honeymoon destinations in America… Hawaii! It also happens to be the place where my very own parents took their honeymoon. When I was in sixth grade, my family took a trip there and ate at the same ice cream place that they had eaten at years ago as newlyweds (Lappert’s in Maui, if you’re curious!) We had so much fun and I remember never wanting to leave! If I were to go back to Hawaii for my honeymoon someday, here’s what I would pack.

{Hawaii, USA}

Packing List: brightly colored tops and dresses in simple silhouettes, white shorts, a Panama hat, fun printed swimsuits, a breezy cover up, pretty sandals, espadrille flats for walking around, a bold beach bag, sunglasses, a cute clutch

Travel: A muted floral top (Anthropologie) is festive without being cheesy (Hawaiian print only works at a luau, if you really feel the need to wear it :P). White Guess shorts are crisp and summery, providing the perfect backdrop for a pop-of-color yellow Marc Jacobs shoulder bag and coral Report espadrille flats.

Day: It is pretty much a given that your days in Hawaii will be spent at the beach! Throw on a simple but bright dress (this off-the-shoulder dress from Victoria’s Secret comes in eight different colors!) and turquoise sandals (Aldo) for breakfast, and then change into a printed swimsuit (American Eagle) and flowy cover up (Victoria’s Secret) for the beach. Accessorize with a J. Crew Panama hat, a perfect Anya Hindmarch beach bag, and super sparkly nail polish (Zoya).

Night: I usually love black for nights out, but with an amazing tan that is pretty much inevitable in Hawaii, nothing looks better than a flirty little white dress. I love the tiered ruffles on this Ella Moss number! Gold shoes (Anne Michelle) add some glamour, and the coral beads are a perfect touch of color. Finish the look with beachy details, like a sparkly Kate Spade sea turtle ring, a Lauren Merkin raffia clutch, and coral Essie nail polish.

I put these outfits together with Hawaii in mind specifically, but I think they would work beautifully for any beach vacation! Got a favorite?

Love,

Lisa
