I’ve been having fun writing my list of favorite wedding details this week, and I have one more lined up, but I’m going to put it off till Saturday.
The blogs Ever Ours and Utterly Engaged have put together For Japan With Love as a way to raise money for ShelterBox, an organization that provides supplies for victims of natural disasters. ShelterBox was in Japan ready to help less than 24 hours after the earthquake, and are now facing the aftermaths of not only the earthquake, but the tsunami and potential nuclear incident as well.
In addition to fundraising, bloggers all over the world are participating in For Japan With Love’s Bloggers Day of Silence tomorrow. I’m also going to refrain from facebook, twitter, and email, and use the time I would usually spend online to treasure time with people I love and to pray for Japan. I hope you’ll join me. See you on Saturday.
“God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. Thus, we do not fear, though earth be shaken and mountains quake to the depths of the sea, though its waters rage and foam and mountains totter at its surging, the Lord of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob… God is in its midst, it will not be shaken.”
Psalm 46:2-4, 6
