A Moveable Feast

Weddings

Guess what I was doing about one year ago today?

If you guessed “best girls weekend ever,” you guessed right! And if you guessed “best girls weekend ever in Paris,” then you are even more right! :)

I lived overseas for 11 years, but never made it to Paris until my study abroad semester last year, when I went with two of my friends, Bridget and Hope. In our short 48 hours there, we ate baguettes in front of the Eiffel Tower, shopped till we dropped at the Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen, visited the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay, admired the Notre Dame, marveled at the Miraculous Medal Shrine, strolled down the Champs Elysée, ate eclairs from Paul, and visited as many places mentioned in Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast (one of my favorite books) as we possibly could. It was a whirlwind trip, but every second was magical for the simple reason that

“C’était Paris.”

I have been to over 35 countries in my life, so it’s hard to choose a favorite, but France is always at the top. No other place has enchanted me quite so much. I love the culture, the language, the fashion, the food… just everything! So it’s no wonder that I tend to gravitate towards things that remind me of this magical city.

For example, here’s something I might wear when I want to channel my inner French girl…

{Loft shirt, Hollister tank, Forever21 leggings, boots from Berlin}

Just for fun, here’s a picture me and my dog Cody, who happens to be of French descent :)

(He doesn’t really like taking pictures, but he’s too cute to not take pictures with!!)

I love this Paris-inspired body spray when I need a little break from perfume. It’s light, flirty, romantic, and perfect for spring!

{Victoria’s Secret “Kissing in Paris” Sheer Fragrance Mist}

And to find out how to get that “je ne sais quoi” that is so famous of the French, there’s some insight from magazine writer Debra Ollivier, who spent ten years in Paris and was kind enough to write a book about it…

And of course, I can’t possibly talk about French inspiration without mentioning some seriously fabulous bloggers in Paris who never fail to amaze me with their incredible style!

{L-R: Haleigh of Making Magique, Alix of The Cherry Blossom Girl,
Camille of Paris in Pink}

Do you have a place that inspires you like Paris inspires me? How do you incorporate that inspiration into your everyday life?

Je t’aime!

Lisa

P.S. Thanks to my super-talented little sister, Kristen, for taking the pictures of me and Cody while I was home in Texas! :)
