Winter Wonderland

Weddings

I woke up this morning to three inches of fresh fallen snow. Winter has definitely arrived in Pittsburgh!

Luckily, I had just the thing to warm up a chilly morning and get a cozy, Christmas-y start to the day.

The high for the next ten days is a “sweltering” 31 degrees Fahrenheit. Texas is definitely looking good right now!

But for those of us trying our best to keep warm in Pittsburgh (or anywhere else north of Texas, for that matter :P ), here are some of my current favorite looks:

1. American Eagle Light & Lofty Sweater in Sweet Auberine

This loose, comfy sweater has become a staple in my closet this winter. It’s long enough to pair with leggings, but looks good with skinny jeans too. I also love this purplish-gray color!

2. J. Crew Cashmere Femme Cardigan in Henna

This cardigan is at the top of my Christmas list for the deep red color and the luxurious cashmere that J. Crew is so well known for.

3. New York & Company Wool Peacoat in Light Heather Gray

I love gray staples because every other color stands out so much against it. Layer this coat over a royal blue sweater, carry a cherry red purse, or put on a lemon colored knit hat for a cheerful winter look.

4. Hollister Jegging in Vintage Medium Wash

I’ll admit it… I am a big fan of the “jeggings” trend. As a frequent traveler, I think that they are the number one most comfortable thing to wear on a plane, and the skinniness lends itself to be worn with loose, flowy knits and cardigans. See above! :)

5. Aldo Contois Riding Boot

These Aldo boots are simple and classic, but their riding-boot height makes them instantly more fashionable.

6. New York & Company Sequin Twist Berets

These cute berets will give any outfit a hint of sparkle.

7. J. Crew Glitterati Party Clutch

Gold is my favorite holiday color, because it’s festive without being the standard red or green. This clutch would add instant glamour to a little black dress.

8. Tiffany & Co. Snowflake Pendant in Sterling Silver

This Tiffany’s pendant is the perfect touch of winter-y whimsy.

Stay warm!

Love,

Lisa

  1. I would love to get a beret but I always wear my hair in a ponytail so it wouldnt look good on me. A girl can dream though.

the sweater and cardigan are so lovely, I can’t get enough of those in winter; and the J Crew clutch is amazing.
