My Spring Wish List

Style

Hope you had a fun Valentine’s Day! Dave and I kept things pretty low key with dinner at our favorite restaurant on Saturday night, and then breakfast in bed, church, and snuggling up with pizza on the couch for dinner on Sunday. What did you do to celebrate?

Pretty much as soon as New Year’s Eve is behind us, I start getting anxious for spring. I fully credit this to the fact that I’ve spent most of my life in hot climates, where January is when “winter” ends! Not so in North Carolina, but I’m hoping we’re almost there! Accompanying my craving for spring, I haven’t been able to stop admiring the breezy pieces and soft shades making their way into stores–here are a few things currently on my wish list.

spring-wish-listClockwise from top left: A green drop waist dress that I can’t stop thinking about, a floral shift in a lighter color palette than Lilly usually does (love!), a teal tank top that will be perfect with my favorite seersucker shorts, highlighting powder to make dry, post-winter skin look glowy, espadrille wedges that I always admire when my friend Jen wears them on her blog, neutral flats in the perfect shade (I think I’ve decided that I would rather invest in Tory Burch flats over Tieks–anyone have one or the other who can weigh in?), the perfect chambray shirtdress, and rosy colored aviators

Anything on your wish list for spring? I’d love to hear!

Those wedges are amazing! After owning them I know I could not get through another spring without them.

Can we have a FaceTime date soon? It’s been too long!

    • Lisa says:

They are the perfect wedges–I hope they come back in my size so I can snap them up! And YES, I would love that! Text me! :)

  2. Love it all and can totally picture you wearing them (and rocking them)!! I am so excited for spring as well! :) Also, I don’t own either pair of flats but I personally think the Tory Burch flats are way cuter and seem to maintain shape better and longer since it’s not elastic! ;) And as much as I love teal, I’d prefer having a neutral pair of flats without teal soles!

  3. Kristina says:

I can’t wait for spring either! England is teasing us already with flowers everywhere but unfortunately it’s also very very rainy :D
I love the chambray dress! And I’m curious what everyone has to say about the flats…Tory Burch vs. Tieks is an interesting question!

  4. Victoria says:

I just saw that Lilly pattern in store and it is about a thousand times cuter in person, too! :) I live in Tory flats and have for years.. they are such incredibly quality. I will note that the new “minnie” style is particularly comfortable although they come in limited color way… can’t wait to see what you get!

  5. Elizabeth L. says:

Those wedges are so cute! I have Tieks and Tory Burch flats and I would without a doubt recommend getting Tieks. I got the Tory flats first and then the Tieks about a year later and I don’t think I have worn my Tory flats since. I do think that the Tory flats have a bit more personality, but Tieks are undoubtedly the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned…I wear them almost every day and they are still in great shape! Definitely a good investment and I am already saving up for another pair :)

  6. Mary says:

Love the shoes! I have a pair of leather nude flats and I live in them. They’re getting a bit worn so I’ll need a replacement soon. These looks like great options. I’m feeling the wedges too! I live in flats, but I’ve been wanting to step out of my comfort zone to look a bit more put together.

    • Lisa says:

I wear flats 90% of the time too–definitely time for me to invest in some great quality ones, I think! I’ll let you know what I end up with!

  7. Dana says:

I love spring clothes!! I need to clock in some solid tanning days before committing to wearing dresses out in public. Bye winter! I like the drop waist dress!

  8. Richard says:

Spent Valentine’s Day with a FaceTime to Mom and eating heart-shaped Butterfingers I was able to get at the Navy Exchange. Winter is over here; Northeast monsoon subsiding and the days are partly cloudy, high of 91 with a chance of afternoon thundershowers. UV index 9+. Tan on.

  9. Molly says:

My Tieks might be my best purchase I’ve ever made! I splurged before my first year of teaching and have never looked back- they held up to me being on my feet every day. I compare them to slippers because they are just so comfortable- and only get more comfortable with time! I bought my second pair for my wedding last summer and I have no regrets.

  10. Em says:

Love the different opinions on the Tory v. Tieks question! And of course, love the UDC most of all :)
