Packing for The Adirondacks

Style

One of my favorite things about being married is seeing how the places and traditions that Dave values most have become special to me as well. The Adirondacks is one of the biggest examples so far–Dave grew up visiting the mountains of upstate New York a few times a year, camping in the summer, spending holidays at his grandparents’ lake house, water skiing, and hiking, and it’s his favorite place on earth. We’re headed to New York tonight for a long weekend on the lake with Dave’s whole family, and I’ve been anxiously awaiting it for weeks. It’ll be my third time there, and it has been really sweet to see the Adirondacks find a place in my heart. I especially love knowing that we’ll bring our kids there someday too, and the tradition can be carried on in our own family.

On another note! While I love packing for most trips, this one is always a little tricky for me, because we spend all day outside on the lake, but then the nights get pretty chilly. Casual layers with a few cute accessories are my go-to–here’s some of my packing list inspiration:

I’m also toting along my camera in the hopes of capturing some special moments to share with y’all next Thursday! Have a good weekend! :)

Is that Essie “bikini so teeny”? One of my faves- the perfect summer pedicure color (I’m wearing it now)!! Cute inspiration for the ADKs- I also like to bring a flowy open-cardigan and headbands!

It’s such a magical summer spot!
