November Inspirations

Weddings

Happy November 1! November is one of my absolute favorite months, and I’m so glad it’s here. As we approach the end of 2012 (ahhh!), a few highlights of the month ahead for me include Feliz Sale, the last full month of fall classes, a book signing/meet and greet with Joy from Oh Joy, sorority initiation, Thanksgiving with my whole family (including my sister who is coming down from Pittsburgh!!), a Texas football game with all my siblings, and Black Friday shopping. It’s going to be a good one. :)

Wedding inspiration: Amazing textures are truly my favorite way to make fall tables incredible. Everything from the use of berries to the mercury glass to the vintage books in this centerpiece is so unique, rustic, and gorgeous!

Fashion inspiration: Like many, I’m a little bit obsessed with Equipment blouses. I tried one on in a Neiman Marcus Last Call over the summer and have been dreaming about it since. This plaid version is the best of both worlds to me, since it marries a relaxed print with a luxurious fabric. Perfect for Thanksgiving day!

Interior design inspiration: One of my favorite decor elements lately is dark, dramatic chandeliers. This is super unlike me since my design style tends toward all-white with girly accents, but maybe I’m branching out :)  This bedroom is a great compromise between the two styles, thanks to the neutral color palette and clean lines that don’t compete with the dark chandelier.

Foodie inspiration: I haven’t had a taste for baked potato soup since I had my wisdom teeth taken out (over three years ago) and I ate baked potato soup for days. This recipe, however, complete with crispy bacon and chives, may have resurrected my interest in this classic comfort food, and I’ll definitely be trying it once the weather stays cool enough.

What’s inspiring you for this month ahead?

Love, Lisa
