Longhorns in Love

Weddings

Well, that was a short summer break! I’m headed back to Austin today to start my last year of school. I’m having a little bit of a hard time staying present since I’m so excited about finally being able to apply to jobs this year (this coming from the girl who finished her college applications the summer before senior year even started!), so for today, I decided to combine my present (going to the University of Texas) with my future (hopefully a heck of a lot more of what you see on this blog). This inspiration board was designed with Longhorn college sweethearts in mind! Collegiate-themed weddings can be even tackier than fall-colors-and-pumpkins weddings (my pet peeve), so the key here is subtlety. UT burnt orange serves as an accent and inspiration rather than a jarring color theme, and contrasted with other orange and peach hues, I think it could be pulled off beautifully. And of course, this is Austin, so anything unique and different goes!

Other than those Miu Miu slingbacks and the stunning peach centerpieces, my favorite thing on this board is definitely the cake. A collegiate cake becomes elegant when you have the words to the alma mater or fight song piped around the layers!

I’ll be getting settled in tomorrow, but I’ll be back on Thursday with a fabulous gown, as usual. Hook ’em!

Love, Lisa
